Italian olive oil has been infused with my homegrown lemon balm to create this silky lip balm. Vitamin E, organic castor oil, and organic shea butter add to the benefits of this all natural chapstick. Beeswax is sourced from a local honey farm at my hometown farmers market. A hint of organic lemon essential oil is added to enhance the natural lemon flavor. Packaged in BPA-free tubes made in the USA. (Please note the olive oil is not organic, and has been reflected in the price.)

Meet the Maker
Welcome to Bert's Herbs. My interest in herbal remedies has turned into a passion, and I love learning, growing, and creating herbal products. God has given us amazing resources in our own backyards - we just need to seek them out. The herbs I use are sourced primarily from my chemical-free garden, or wildcrafted. Herbs that are not self-supplied are purchased from small businesses and are organic whenever possible. My family and friends have been enjoying my products for years, and I am hoping to share the benefits.
Bert's Herbs is named after our cat, Herbert. My husband and I adopted Bert (Herbert) when he was nearly 10 years old after losing our 18 year old friend, Scorpio. Due to sad circumstances, Herbert lost 2 owners, and was separated from another cat he was bonded to. With patience and time, Herbert learned to trust us, and ultimately the hole in each of our hearts was filled. I hope to honor Herbert and earn your trust by providing natural, quality products.

How it’s Made
Throughout the summer I gather wonderful and uplifting lemon balm from my bee-friendly garden. Pending time and quantity, the herbs are air dried or dehydrated at a low temp. I prefer to use the folk method and infuse oils in a sunny window, but depending on harvest and time, my Wisconsin climate sometimes forces me to "quick infuse" oils in a warm water slow cooker bath. Once the oil is infused, I make small batches of chapsticks for friends, family, and my shop.

God blesses my garden differently each year, and this may affect product availability. This is a new venture for me, and while I hope the growing pains are minimal, I know there will be some along the way. Your patience is greatly appreciated.
